Private tutor in Barrie, Canada

Education

I taught high school English at a private school in Fairfax Virginia. I took courses in English grammar and composition, history of civilization, advanced grammar, copy editing, copy writing, Latin, English Romantic Poetry, British Literature, and American romanticism. Before English however, I received my diploma in piano performance from the Royal Conservatory of Music. In addition to learning the piano, I took three music history classes covering the Renaissance era to the Modern era. I have also taken three music harmony classes and a composition analysis class.

Experience

I first started tutoring at the age of 12. A 6 year old boy was struggling with certain things at the private school he attended, so his mom would bring him over once a week for some help. This was the start of a passion that has yet to cease burning, a passion to share knowledge. Since that little boy, I have tutored peers, colleagues, and other children. I am a patient person with a firm belief that anyone can learn anything with the right teacher. If one is not learning, he is not being taught correctly. I have worked with children and those with special needs of all ages over the last 10 years. I have studied and thoroughly understand grammar, English, Bible, Shakespeare, music theory, history, music history, and elementary math.

Hobbies

English, History, and Music Theory! I am a fun-loving twenty-two year old eager to see the whole entire world. I love hiking, biking, soccer, and my favorite, snowboarding. I am a classically trained pianist and piano teacher with a love for great music of all genres. The beach is my escape while in Pensacola, so a Saturday that isn't spent in the water is a waste to me! I thoroughly enjoy a good book, preferably about women's rights and historical events. I also visit the girls at the juvenile detention center for girls in Pensacola with a group of girls from my school. I am a shopaholic with a consuming desire for cute shoes and perfect sweaters.
